Once Upon A Time...

Leigh's fascination with pictures started at age five on receiving this fancy 35mm Babette. With eye pressed firmly against the view finder, a love of seeking out and capturing beautiful images was born. Numerous rolls of 35mm film later, Leigh decided he wanted to be a cameraman when he grew up!


Time to work...

On completion of a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Film, Television and Media Studies at Curtin University, Leigh started work as a Lighting Camera Operator at Australian Broadcasting Commission and New 10 West Coast Telecasters in Perth. Within this fast paced world of Television News and Current Affairs a versatile skill base was established to include Electronic Field Production and News Gathering, Studio Operations and Outside Broadcasts.

After five years working in the local scene, it was time to re-locate to London to embrace international work opportunities. Over four year's Leigh established himself as a professional and versatile team member repeatedly employed by highly regarded media organisations such as BBC Television, Sky News, Fuji Television, ABC America and SBS Television. High profile camera assignments included United Kingdom Parliament, G7 Summit, First Gulf War, UK to France channel tunnel, large-scale live music broadcasts at Wembley Stadium, world sport championships, commercials, news and documentaries.

On return to Perth, Leigh worked for TVW7, STW9, News 10, ABC Television, SBS Television in areas of news, current affairs, Telethon, Outside Broadcasts, aerial photography and live studios. Leigh was also selected to be the Camera Operator/Technician for a complex Australian Government Aid Project in India. Employed by GEMCO Australia, Leigh successfully liaised with a foreign team over the course of a year to deliver multi-cam vision used to create complex train simulators.

Time to call the shots...

In 2009 Leigh stepped out into private enterprise and created Envision Productions providing a personalised Video Production Service based in Perth, Western Australia. Driven by a film aesthetic to image capturing, the client base is rapidly growing and varying in nature. From specialised art product such as A Midsummer Night's Dream at the State Theatre of WA and Wheel's & Doll Baby 25th Anniversary Fashion Gala to Education and Training online packages for Disability Services Commission and Legal Aid. From oil rigs to music concert rigs, Leigh's versatility enables creative flexibility in an array of filming environments.
